Had to wake up early this morning, i.e. 4.45am as I had to catch a Myvi Train coming from Kepong. Driver was non other than Captain Ronnie, a.k.a PM1. He is so kan cheong to reach there early so he wanted everyone to be the same. This time I didnt run to Lai's Putramas Condominium as in Energizer Run, as it was so early and I dont think I can make it in time @ 5.20am. So drove there and park near the condo. I was kind of worried when I saw some of the cars got summon tix, but it looked old, so could be abandon cars. Then when I got in Ronnie's car, he told me he got summoned when he went to Bidor couple weeks back. Never mind, I'll just take the risk.
Anyways, got there early of course....and started to gather our team and distribute the bibs. Then we waited for our respective buses. However, was kind of worried as the "C" buses did not move till 7.55am. Race starts at 8am. A miscommunication between the organiser's staff could spell disaster for us, as my team mate could reach my station and don't find me there! Luckily the start was delayed (as I found out from Ronnie at the end of the race, which affected his warm up).
As it came to my leg, we were 7th team, managed to overtake two other runners, got close to the other 2, but ran out of steam until I saw the final strecth after the turn uphill. Kind of late to give chase, but just to be sure I get as close as possible before passing my cloth sash to Casey. I knew he can overtake a lot of people, I bet he can run this race alone. He did indeed overtook 3 other runners and move us up to 2nd place. Michele got overtaken but managed to hold on to give us a podium finish! Well done!
The day turn out be like us stuffed inside a hot oven. It was just so hot that everyone tried to find shade around the buildings or tents!
